The wilderness where our bees collect our premium organic honey is of natural beauty!
These bee forages are located in mountains and forests where human presence is limited.
They have rich biodiversity of unique indigenous plants and herbs, many of which have medicinal properties.
These places are the pine forests of Thassos island, the remote virgin forests of the southern Rhodope mountains and the stunning mountains of north-western Peloponese.
The pine forest of Thassos island
Thassos
The Emeral Island
Thassos island is not named “the emerald island” by accident. It is located in the northern part of the Aegean Sea and has really opulent vegetation.
The name of Thassos literally means forest (ða.sos,Greek: δάσος). The pine forests from ancient times were one of the main resources of the island.
The melliferous honeydew from the pine trees and the flowers of strawberry trees, ivy, chaste berries, heather, myrtle, oregano, and other species create a significant bee forage that offers us a unique honey type with a rich and full-bodied flavor.

The southern Rhodope Mountains
Rhodope Mountains
A rich forest ecosystem
The Rhodopes are part of the Rila-Rhodope massif, which is the oldest landmass on the Balkan peninsula. The Greek mountains of Rhodope are the most forested mountains of the country. The heart of this mountainous ecosystem, in the northern mountainous part of the Prefectures of Drama and Xanthi, constitutes the Rhodope National Park, covering an area of 173 hectars, including extended and rich forest ecosystems.
The region is a botanical paradise of flora species variety. From the 1121 plant species and sub-species that have been identified in the Rhodope mountains to date (almost 60% of the European flora species can be found here) at least 7 are locally endemic, meaning that they don’t exist anywhere else in the world. Ten more species are Greek endemic, and 80 more are Balkan endemic and their protection is a priority according to the Natura 2000 network.

We are proud to harvest organic honey from our beehives located in remote, virgin areas across the country.
We don’t buy and resell honey from other beekeepers and that’s why we do not produce many different types of honey and our honey production capacity is limited.
Our sustainable beekeeping practices guarantee best quality and most health and nutrition benefits, with respect to our bees, our most precious pollinators.
